It's been 9 years since I left Infosys Mangalore SEZ campus after a 3 year 2 months of growing up with the idyllic campus, the wonderful bunch of people there!
Though it was my decision to resign - With my eyes tearful and heart weighed down, I walked out of SDB 2, returning my ID card - 156841, realising that the world is not going to be the same anymore for me. Indeed - it was never!
My journey with Infosys started right after I joined Infy in 2010 August 16 - following campus selection. The Mysore GEC campus - "Oh Wow!!".
The 6 months I got to spent there has entirely moulded me professionally and personally to what I am today. I have taken advantage of every single class that I've got there. The personality development sessions, the communication - etiquette sessions, I have learned a lot and I can with pride say that I have put that to use in my life.
I do tell my colleagues whom I had to work with later when they compliment me on anything - be it my professional approach, a well written e mail or adherence to processes - "Hello!! I am an Infy product!"
Parallelly I have had my share of fun with our pan Indian batchmates - right from Kashmir to Kanyakumari!! The DJ's, the food courts, the fashion shows, the amphitheatre, multiplex, cycling around the campus, late night outs and what not!!
Then from January 2021 I was posted at Mangalore Infosys SEZ campus - which was the best days of my life!
I knew atleast 80% of the crowd there - I could walk into anyone and start talking - because we were all part of a big family then. Right from the then DC head - Gopi KK to the newest fresher in the DC, we could sing, dance, talk and laugh together without any inhibitions!!
The Onam, Pongal, Dussehra, Holi celebrations tightened the bond between us. The Onam ganamela, sadya, skits, thiruvathira, pookkalam, sinkari melam - you name it, those images from each year rallies in front of my eyes!
Even now when I see the trains 'Malabar Express ' or 'Maveli Express ' passing by, I feel an urge to jump in and go back to those times! The sleeper compartments of those trains have a lot of our stories to share - of non stop chatter of Infoscions late night, of dumb charades, anthaksharees..
I started my blogging hobby from 'Infyblogs'. My first recognition was when Keralites from other DC's who are strangers to me - started pinging me on MS Communicator - telling me "Keep writing Juno, you make us laugh a lot, your blogs are a stress buster!!!"
If I could time travel - I would definitely want to go back to those good old times.
As the wise say - "Well begun is half done".
Yea, I was lucky enough to have my career begin with Infosys..
